If you are considering purchasing a lace wig
aware of certain risks you incur.
First of all, there are no guarantees that the lace
wig will fit, be of good quality or even arrive at all!
The beauty supply store is likely more interested
in one thing and that is selling the lace wig not
making sure it fits you right. Chances are they do
not know how to fit the lace wig nor how to even
properly size it or help you put it on correctly.
Purchasing on line is also a gamble. If you want
to take a high dollar gamble, by all means do it.
But if you want a 100% worry free experience with
a guarantee, then you may want to consider going
with a professional where you can see, touch,
feel, and smell the wig before you lay down your
hard earned money.
Recently I had a lady come to me who had
purchased a custom lace wig for over $600 at a
beauty supply store. When she came to me, I was
horrified to see that it wasn't measured properly
and it was so small it could never fit her entire
head. When she went back to the store, the man
was very rude and told her she owned it and he
wouldn't do anything to help her. She ended up
taking him to small claims court. That was an
expensive lesson for her to learn. When you
purchase your lace wig from people who fit them,
you can try it on, make sure the fit is perfect, get
instructions on how to remove and refit it,
experiment with different colors, etc. In the case of
the woman I just mentioned, I was able to
empathize with her and show her how these wigs
are suppose to be fitted and worn but little else.
Even I - a person very experienced in lace wigs -
have brought wigs online at Ebay and when I got
them they were torn, the hair was poor quality, and
the fit was awful! Yes this can even happen to a
person in the business like me. Can you imagine
the things that can possibly go wrong for
someone who is not in the business!
